Attitude of Gratitude

December 10, 2018

Another year passes, and we find ourselves in January! Are you tired of the traditional New Year’s resolution to lose weight, get fit, or get out of credit card debt? One of the things that many struggle with every New Year are those resolutions. New Year’s resolutions! Who thought that up, anyway? About this time each year, you hear people say, “I am so ready for 2018 to be over.” As we face 2019 it is only natural for us to reflect on 2018. It is equally normal for us to feel disappointed in ourselves, families, accomplishments, financial status, etc.

Life can be tough, and when you’re faced with challenges and in need of encouragement, the best place to go is God’s word.

Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”

Romans 8:28 “We know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called for his purpose.”

Ponder this……………………….

If you have food in your fridge, clothes on your back, a roof over your head and a place to sleep you are richer than 75% of the world.

If you have money in the bank, your wallet, and some spare change you are among the top 8% of the worlds wealthy.

If you have never experienced the danger of battle, the agony of imprisonment or torture, or the horrible pangs of starvation you are luckier than 500 million people alive and suffering.

If you can read this message you are more fortunate than 3 billion people in the world who cannot read it at all.

As Americans, we can become accustomed to the many blessing we have. Practicing gratitude is one of the most reliable methods for increasing contentment and life satisfaction.

So, I encourage you to resolve yourself in 2019 to have an “Attitude of Gratitude.”

A Beautiful Gift

November 30, 2018

I noticed a couple (probably in their mid-eighties) smiling at each other as they sat together. The husband is in a chair sitting very close to his wife who is in a wheelchair. Pam Brody: Just Call Her ‘Vivacious’

July 31, 2018

When Pam Brody started in show business more than 51 years ago in London, her agent said she had to have a name, something to describe her act, something that would stick. ”He told me people were sick of ‘glamorous,’ so I became ‘vivacious’,” Brody explained over her fourth cup of coffee at the London Tavern in downtown… Read more »

Living our Mission Statement

December 21, 2017

Good Morning Palm Garden Family, This year at one of our centers the Grinch stole Santa’s “Steven R. Covey” planner. That’s right. Without his planner, Santa wasn’t going to show up. When one of your team members learned of this she said “Oh no you didn’t! Where’s the costume? Our guests and residents are not… Read more »
